Geometrical nail art

Almost a year ago when I was on the plane home from Marrakesh I saw a picture of a manicure that I liked so I screenshot it so that I would be able to re-create it later.

Here is what I did. The white base is "White on White" from China Glaze the rest are nail art nail polishes from Kiss USA "Kiss Nail Art Paint" in Black, Silver Glitter, Soft Blue, Beach Pink and Soft Purple. Also the L.A Colors Art Deco in Bright Green and some miscellaneous from Walmart in Mexico.

Watermarble in black and blue

yet again I did a watermarble but this time with a blue color instead of the white that I did last time.

I know this picture isn't the best but it captures H&M - Nail Him the best of all the pics I took. So this time just as last time, I also used this black from Bissu that doesn't have any name. I started with painting all my nails with Nail Him.

Which will leave your nails looking like this, maybe, then you add tape around your nails so that you don't have to clean so much when your done with the water marbling. Add water to a glass and open up all the bottles of polish that you are going to use and start dripping down in the water, don't drip to far away from the glass because that can make that the drip goes all the way to the bottom of the glass. It's better if you drip closely to the water. Then when you think you have the amount of rings of color in the glass take a toothpick and drag it the way you want the rings to go. And gently dip your nail(s) in the water.

This is how my nails looked like afterwards, it can be all kinds of motives since it's all about how you place your nails in and how you have done the rings with the toothpick.

Watermarble in black and white

So two days ago I uploaded this to my Instagram, it was late in the evening and as always I was in front of the computer doing my nails. I have previously done water marbling on my nails but always thought it looked ugly and that I hadn't done it correctly. But two days ago I think I actually made I great job with this black and white watermarble.

I used this two nail polishes. China Glaze White on White, not only for the marble but also as the base on the nails, and Bissu in black (there is no names on the bottles)...

OPI - Can't find my Czechbook with flowers (OPI - Koala Bear-y)

So today it's Friday and I painted my nails already on Sunday nigh, but yes this is how it is when you have waaaaaay to much in Uni so that you forget to upload a blogpost.

Here you have Can't find my Czechbook on its own. It's a soft blue, not light light blue but still not extremely dark either... Ok that was really a shitty explication on how the blue is but I think you can see from the pic otherwise you can always google search it. A little reminder that my pics are taken with flash, it's pitch black outside here in Sweden so there is no other way to do good pics.

And here I painted some flowers or poppies (well that is a flower, so yeah) by using OPI  Koala Bear-y and a black nail art pen from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

Cat and paws nails inspired by Cutepolish

So last night I took away the other nailpolish I had on my nails and painted this... Today we are going to Stockholm to see Ed Sheeran and I thought this design would fit quite well for the occasion ( Ed has a cat paw tattooed on his arm, the previous CD, +,  was orange and he likes cats...). Yeah I know, it's not like he ever gonna see my nails but I like the design and every time I get the chance to do something I have seen and liked then I take the chance to do it :)

I started off by painting my nails with a Base coat and then I did french manicure with the black and orange polishes. I did 2 layers so that it was opac. I then took the dotting tool and made the paws on the orange tips. On the black tips, as you can see, I added more black to do the cat face, ears and tail.

This is all the polishes I uses: Ridge Filling Base Coat from Seche, Manhunter from H&M, 02 hello summer! from Essence, 944 Innocent from Sinful Colors, SPA12 Black and SPA02 White from Kiss Nail Art Paint and Dry Fast Top Coat from Seche Vite. And my dotting tool..

A lil pic with the bottles. Manhunter is my favorite black, which I notice yesterday when I painted...it's almost empty :-(

Here is Cutepolish video on how to do this, just follow Sandi's directions and you will be all fine :)

New Polishes

oh holly, don't let me come close to a store that sells nailpolishes cuz I always find some new one that I want.
Last weekend I went home to my friend in Stockholm, since she had her birthday on Monday and we then had the party on Saturday and went out in Stockholm.

But before going home to my friend, I did a small detour to Bromma Blocks since they have Rusta (the place where I found OPI for only 35 kr instead of 155kr for each bottle). But when I got there they only had Thanks a Windmillion from OPI, which I already got last time.... So instead I bought 2 bottles of Sally Hansen, like the only place you can get it. Did I mention I don't like living in Sweden cuz the tax is a joke on make up, hygiene articles and stuff like that, so please don't complain if a polish in UK or USA is "expensive", since the price for ONE OPI is 155 kr = $21, £13 or €17 (more or less). And some brands we don't even have here and therefore never will have the pleasure to try out :(

Sorry about the rant, but saw someone on Instagram complaining on the price for an OPI being $ 8 for a bottle and I was like "yessez woman, that's nothing".

So this is all I got

814 Platinum Star and 816 Malbec - Sally Hansen from Rusta 29kr/each
Toggle to the top and Belugaria - Essie from H&M 50kr/each
128 Ocean Crush and 866 Dragon - IsaDora from H&M 30kr and 10kr
233 Spontaneous - China Glaze from H&M 30 kr

Swirl

Yesterday after the nailwarps came off my nails I did something I had seen a while ago. The swirl using  3 different polishes and a toothpick. I used Taupe from H&M, Germani-Cure By Opi from OPI and a black nail art pen from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

I started off by painting my nails with Taupe and then making crosses with Germani-Cure By OPI and the black nail art pen and with a toothpick doing swirls from the center off the nail to the edges so that the different nail polishes mixed. I think I turned out really nice, on my thumb but not on the other nails. I think you can only do this on short or middle length nails coz when they are the length I have now, on almost all my nails, then it's to long and the polish starts to dry and then the design won't be nice.

H&M - Moonlight + Nailwrap from Jamberry

Today I painted my nail with one of the nail polishes that I bought in Stockholm this weekend. I found a small (!?! haha it was a lot) sale at H&M and they sold out polishes for 5 and 10 Swedish crowns. So I started off with this: Moonlight. A sheer black with blue/green flakes that after 2-4 layers looks like this. I added a nail wrap on my pinkie from the brand Jamberry, it's called Skyline. For 10 Swedish crowns I think that it's a very good nail polish and I'm sad I didn't bought more!!

UPDATE!!! (10th of October)

So I took the nailwrap away and painted also my pinkie with Moonlight . I hope you can see the color a bit better on this picture but it's kinda hard to get the color shifting from the green and blue.

Ciaté - Strawberry Milkshake 079 and dreamcatchers & feather nailart.

After my doodling post yesterday I took it away and painted my nails with Ciaté Strawberry Milkshake that is from the Caviar Manicure together with Rainbow  (that I got from my co-worker).

As you can see it really is the color of a Strawberry Milkshake. I had a hard time applying it to my nails, cuz Ciaté dries fast and you need a bit of polish to cover the whole nail before it dries and yeah I had to little and it got messy in the beginning but then I sorted things out.

In the evening I sat infront of the computer and did this:

Some dreamcatchers and feathers using nailart pens from Models Own, Amour, Kiss Nail Art Paint and L.A. Colors Art Deco.

And here are all the polishes I used: Gold Glitter and Intense Pink from L.A. Colors Art Deco, blue from the food store, red from Amour, Strawberry Milkshake from Ciaté, black from Models Own and Silver Glitter, White and Black from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

And a picture without flash.

OPI - Pedal Faster Suzi! + Cheetah nail art..

Today I painted my nails with one of the polishes I bought at Rusta in Karlstad. OPI's Pedal Faster Suzi! from the Holland Collection. This is a bright soft pink with shimmer in it (which you sadly can't see on the pics). If you like pink, just like I do, then this is a very nice pink to have in your stash!

UPDATE

I did some cheetah prints on my nails with the colors Intense Pink from L.A Colors and Black from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

I'm not very good at cheetah prints since it's my first time I'm doing it..

The Great Gatsby inspired nails

Actually I started with this post before the last one but I was eager to show you the wraps, BUT here is my nails for this week ( let's see how long time I'm keeping this).

I think they are very much inspired by The Great Gatsby movie, it must be the gold that makes me think of Leonardo DiCaprio, swinging dresses, ladies with necklaces and endless drinking.

For this mani I used OPI 4 in the morning from the Gwen Stefani collection and My favorite ornament from the Mariah Carey collection. I started off by painting the black polish on 4 of my nails and the gold on my ringfinger. The lines on my pinkie and index finger I painted on without any help, but to the chevrons on my middle finger I did use a Nail Tip Guide (that my mum bought from Oriflame like ages ago). On my thumb I did dots with a doting tool that I bought in Mexico last time I was home.

Galaxy Nails

Made some galaxy nails using Manhunter and Mon Amie from H&M, Sweet As Sugar from Rimmel and Chaotic from Sephora Formula X collection. . .

I started off by painting 2 layers of Manhunter (a beautiful black) and then sponged Mon Amie over the black polish in like a galaxy line over the nail. Mon Amie looks like it's a white/pearl polish but it's more white with gold. Which just as it is, looks like galaxies but I wasn't done with only 2 polishes. I then sponged Sweet As Sugar, a soft blue polish from Rimmel just like I did with Mon Amie. Over the whole thing I painted Chaotic from Sephora, a clear nailpolish with matte white and black hexagon and roads of glitter.

Nails Inc - Lanesborough Place and stamping with Bissu & OPI - Push & Shove

Today I painted my nails with Nails Inc - Lanesborough Place, that I got from my friend Rica (check her blog, she makes jewellery), a golden nailpolish and over it a made some stamping with anchors and swallows (with a plate from essence, that I bought in Bremen or Hamburg) with a black Bissu and the silver Push And Shove from OPI

The Lansborough Place was a bit hard to apply even on my nails, I don't know if it's starting to be "old" or cuz it's in a small bottle ( I seam to always have problem with small bottle polishes...)

Macro picture of my nail

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while... I was in Oxford from the 28th of June to the 18th of July and this Monday the 21st I started working again home here in Sweden.. I have had some different manicures during this time but I haven't had time to take pictures of it. This is actually my thumb nail that, in the last minute, I remembered to take a picture of today when I was almost finished removing this to do another mani.

It's Shanghai Nights from H&M that I bought in Oxford for only £1 and  Chaotic from the Formula X series from Sephora. I painted Shanghai Nights already when I was in Oxford and then i added the Chaotic when I got home . I used my Iphone 4s and a olloclip to take this picture with the macro lens.

Gwen Stefani and Mariah Carey mani

Today I'm going to the airport, Arlanda, cuz tomorrow I'm flying to UK with 16 kids that are going to Cambridge or with me to Oxford to study English for the next 3 weeks. So since I bought some polishes yesterday I thought it was good to also use them in a mani so that my nails would look nice at least the first couple of days.

I used 4 in the morning from the Gwen Stefani collection on all my nails except the ring finger where I painted with Push & Shove from the same collection, then I also added some of the round glitter from I snow you love me from the Mariah Carey winter collection.

Gift from my co-worker and a nice SALE

Today I finally walked over to my ex co-worker, she lives like 5 mins from me, she sent me a message on Facebook wondering if I wanted this package of Ciaté caviar manicure. How could I turn that offer down, she didn't want it sooo....

After picking up this sweet little thing I went for a walk to the city center , another 5-10 mins walking from my ex co-workers house, and what do I find when I arrive at Kicks... A sale and they have some of the "new" OPI nailpolishes from the Gwen Stefani collection that came out this year...

So I bought "4 in the morning", "I sing in color" and "Push & Shove" (which also comes with a Base coat polish in a small bottle). The bottles where half price so I thought it was totally ok to buy them.

Silver zebra

I wasn't really happy whit this :(

I painted my nails with Manhattan - Lotus Effect in number 1, which is a silver colored polish. I was going to do zebra nailart on all my nails but it was quite late and the only light source I had was my computer so I ended up adding shatter nailpolish to my right hand (which is the one i paint with and always get neglected since my left hand is my weak one...)

Beetle nails

Last year when I was in Germany I bought Catrice "07 Genius In The Bottle", which is a duochrome polish in gold/green (you can read/see a picture of the bottle here)

I haven't used it until this week, why you might ask... well to be honest I don't know!!! It's absolutely gorgeous. Sure it's a bit hard to get it totally opac and not showing any strokes...but it get soooo nice when it's done.

This picture is with flash and my Canon camera

This is without flash and my Iphone 4s.

I wanted to do like a beetles back, when they kind of open up their wings before liftoff.

My inspiration was this:

 A female Golden Stag Beetle....
