New Polishes

oh holly, don't let me come close to a store that sells nailpolishes cuz I always find some new one that I want.
Last weekend I went home to my friend in Stockholm, since she had her birthday on Monday and we then had the party on Saturday and went out in Stockholm.

But before going home to my friend, I did a small detour to Bromma Blocks since they have Rusta (the place where I found OPI for only 35 kr instead of 155kr for each bottle). But when I got there they only had Thanks a Windmillion from OPI, which I already got last time.... So instead I bought 2 bottles of Sally Hansen, like the only place you can get it. Did I mention I don't like living in Sweden cuz the tax is a joke on make up, hygiene articles and stuff like that, so please don't complain if a polish in UK or USA is "expensive", since the price for ONE OPI is 155 kr = $21, £13 or €17 (more or less). And some brands we don't even have here and therefore never will have the pleasure to try out :(

Sorry about the rant, but saw someone on Instagram complaining on the price for an OPI being $ 8 for a bottle and I was like "yessez woman, that's nothing".

So this is all I got

814 Platinum Star and 816 Malbec - Sally Hansen from Rusta 29kr/each
Toggle to the top and Belugaria - Essie from H&M 50kr/each
128 Ocean Crush and 866 Dragon - IsaDora from H&M 30kr and 10kr
233 Spontaneous - China Glaze from H&M 30 kr

IsaDora - 738 Blue Lagoon

So last night I painted my nails with this wonderful blue, 738 Blue Lagoon from IsaDora. I had totally forgotten about this color, mostly cuz my polishes are stored in 3 Helmers and I don't see what I have and then always go for the once I really really like. I so need some nailpolish racks for my almost 400 polishes (iiiii when did that happened !!!!)

Blue Lagoon is a very nice and opac, after 2 layers, nailpolish. It may be even better as a summer polish since I think it will suit better for a tan skin and not my autumn/winter colored hands. They are so pale right now and it will be even worse in the next couple of months. We woke up with frost on the grounds today and the leaves have been falling off the trees.

Nail mail from Born Pretty Store

Today my package from Born Pretty Store finally arrived, sooooo happy!! I saw the mailman when he came in his little car and I had to run (like every day) to the big window that faces the street and I saw that it was something bigger in the bundle that he dropped down the mailbox...

So this was all the things in the nail mail. Holder for all my stamping plates, 4 plates, 5 dotting tools, stampers and scrapers, hairband and nail art striping tape.

Here is a close up on the stamping plates that I bought .

Colorful nails for my friend's 27th Birthday

Today is my friend Sara's 27th birthday and this weekend we had the birthday celebrations. She invited us home to her place and we had snacks and drinks.

The theme for the party was colorful nails :) Yeay I say, just up my alley...

This was my contribution.

I started off by painting all my nails with White on White from China Glaze. After my nails had fully dried, I took a make up sponge and tore pieces of it so I could use it to do my colorful nails. I used Amazon....Amazoff, Formidably Orange, Ridiculously Yellow, Seriously Purple and Riotously Pink all from OPI.

With the make up sponge I dabbed on the different colors on the white base to create the colorful nails.

Stamping Sunday #1

Well let's see if I can do this to a weekly thing, since I already know I'm going away next weekend.

Well obviously this is with flash and I know I need to work on my stamping technique but I'm waiting on a new stamper that is square cuz all the ones I have are round. I have used two different grey/silver polishes: Moonraker and Push And Shove and the base is Dutch' Ya Just Love OPI? all from OPI.

Here is a picture with no flash and you can now see the different between the to polishes much more then the above picture.
Thumb, ringfinger and pinkie are painted with Moonraker from the Skyfall collection (James Bond) and the index and middle finger with Push And Shove from Gwen Stefani collection. The plate is m70 from Born Pretty Store.

OPI - Dutch'Ya Just Love OPI?

Today I painted my nails, in a new length, with one of the OPI polishes that I bought at Rusta in Karlstad. For all the ones that live in Sweden check your Rusta stores for OPI, specially now when the have raised the price to 155 kr, I bought this for 35 kr each!!!! Super bargain.

It's Dutch' Ya Just Love OPI? a purple cream polish with golden shimmer. It looks darker on the nail then in the bottle and in the bottle it's more shimmer but I really like it.

New length on my nails

Today I decided it was time to actually cut down my uneven nails and have them all at a similar length. My thumbs and the index nail on my right hand had all broken, leaving me with 7 very looooong nails and the rest very short.

So bring on out the nail clippers and let's chop of some nails :)

Swirl

Yesterday after the nailwarps came off my nails I did something I had seen a while ago. The swirl using  3 different polishes and a toothpick. I used Taupe from H&M, Germani-Cure By Opi from OPI and a black nail art pen from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

I started off by painting my nails with Taupe and then making crosses with Germani-Cure By OPI and the black nail art pen and with a toothpick doing swirls from the center off the nail to the edges so that the different nail polishes mixed. I think I turned out really nice, on my thumb but not on the other nails. I think you can only do this on short or middle length nails coz when they are the length I have now, on almost all my nails, then it's to long and the polish starts to dry and then the design won't be nice.

Cheap Nailwraps

Today at work I had a 2 hour lunch break so I went to the city to do some errands and when I walked in to the store TGR (Tiger) I saw that they had, not only the nailpolishes but also now they have nailwraps for 20 kr. I have previously bought some nail foils from there and they are ok, so I thought that why not try this nailwraps out. So now after dinner, in front of the telly I tested this wraps. To be honest they where easier to apply to the nails then the Jamberry's that I bought from Kate in USA. They where easy to apply and also easy to take away the excess by just pulling over the nail tip and it tore off... Unfortunately they where not BIG fans of very warm water.... So no more nailwraps for me :(

Pink October

October is Breast Cancer Month, even if I think the whole year should be Cancer Year.
And one of the things a lot of people do is wear pink clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, nailpolish etc. So I decided to paint my nails with one of my untried polishes. Number 369 from Depend, that I bought in August. It's a very bright pink cream polish that are totally opac and smooth after 2 layers. I did  also add a splash of glitter by using In True Stefani Fashion from OPI's Gwen Stefani collection that came out this spring.

H&M - Moonlight + Nailwrap from Jamberry

Today I painted my nail with one of the nail polishes that I bought in Stockholm this weekend. I found a small (!?! haha it was a lot) sale at H&M and they sold out polishes for 5 and 10 Swedish crowns. So I started off with this: Moonlight. A sheer black with blue/green flakes that after 2-4 layers looks like this. I added a nail wrap on my pinkie from the brand Jamberry, it's called Skyline. For 10 Swedish crowns I think that it's a very good nail polish and I'm sad I didn't bought more!!

UPDATE!!! (10th of October)

So I took the nailwrap away and painted also my pinkie with Moonlight . I hope you can see the color a bit better on this picture but it's kinda hard to get the color shifting from the green and blue.

Ciaté - Strawberry Milkshake 079 and dreamcatchers & feather nailart.

After my doodling post yesterday I took it away and painted my nails with Ciaté Strawberry Milkshake that is from the Caviar Manicure together with Rainbow  (that I got from my co-worker).

As you can see it really is the color of a Strawberry Milkshake. I had a hard time applying it to my nails, cuz Ciaté dries fast and you need a bit of polish to cover the whole nail before it dries and yeah I had to little and it got messy in the beginning but then I sorted things out.

In the evening I sat infront of the computer and did this:

Some dreamcatchers and feathers using nailart pens from Models Own, Amour, Kiss Nail Art Paint and L.A. Colors Art Deco.

And here are all the polishes I used: Gold Glitter and Intense Pink from L.A. Colors Art Deco, blue from the food store, red from Amour, Strawberry Milkshake from Ciaté, black from Models Own and Silver Glitter, White and Black from Kiss Nail Art Paint.

And a picture without flash.

A little bit of doodling

Well this happened yesterday, cuz out of boredom or something..

The base for all the nails is White On White from China Glaze..

Which one/s should I keep and paint all my nails with?!?!

On my thumb I stamped with the plate QA88 from Born Pretty Store. I painted with the sheer tints I made some weeks ago.

On my index finger I also stamped with the plate QA88 from Born Pretty Store and there I did a reverse stamping. Which means that I let the motive stay on the stamper and painted in the colors of the design. I used Golden Green and Copper Pot from Models Own and 426 from Depend.

On my middle finger I used Hot Stuff from Models Own

On my ring finger i did a watermarble with OPI Moonraker and nr 426 from Depend.

On my  pinkie and Freak Out! from Models Own

I also have come to the conclusion that I need a light box...  One of all the projects I have to do on my list...
